People are what makes Kingfisher Brixham the company it is. Our staff are masters of their trade with extensive product knowledge, skills and experience in the world of fish and seafood.
Marc Shipton manages Kingfisher Brixham. Marc joined Kingfisher whilst still at school! Working for the company during his school holidays, Marc began working full time in the production department after finishing school in 1993 where he worked as a fish processor, and then as a packer. Marc went on to work in sales, helping to grow the business before becoming Operations Manager in 2003 and then Depot Manager in 2009. This background has given Marc a great grounding for depot management by understanding what is involved in all aspects of the business.
Marc is supported by a great team of buyers, account managers, fishmongers and delivery drivers.
Marc, “I don’t know of too many jobs where people get as passionate about their industry and the product they work with as in the fish industry. I love working for Kingfisher Brixham because we have some of the finest fish in the world landing on Brixham Fishmarket which is on our doorstep, and to be able to sell seafood of this quality gives us a real edge. I also work with a lot of great people who I enjoy working with. Brill is my favourite fish, I love the flavour and texture.”
Gary Goddard manages the sales team at Kingfisher Brixham. Gary joined the company in 2008 having worked in the catering industry prior to this. Gary began working at Kingfisher as part of the account managing team, then out on the road as a Business Development Manager, then in 2013 Gary then became the Sales Manager.
Gary, “At Kingfisher Brixham we are all strive to be the best and I work with a team that share this common goal, to be the best. It goes without saying there are challenges all the way but we never give up in our attempt to be number one. I love the challenging and ever changing role, day-to-day is always different and overseeing roughly 20 employees makes it always interesting. Being part of the fishing industry also gets under your skin and eventually you live and breathe the industry. I have many favourite fish and I eat it everyday without fail, however if I have to pick one it would be John Dory.”
